No more double XP for you (pic: Activision)
Most Wanted contracts have been temporarily disabled from Warzone 2 due to a newly-discovered farming exploit.
The social menu bug was the first major problem for Warzone 2, as players faced problems with party invites, though a workaround was quickly discovered before it was finally fixed. Later, players discovered a more beneficial bug in the game’s Most Wanted contracts, which kept giving out double XP.
Specifically, you had to start a Most Wanted contract, wait until the clock ran down to zero, and then quickly open a nearby loot crate. Doing this would give you almost 14,000 XP points, without any additional XP tokens.
The bug quickly became a problem for Activision, as more and more players used it to level up fast, unlock new weapons, and speed through the Warzone 2 battle pass.
However, it’s too late to get in on the action now, as developer Infinity Ward has disabled Most Wanted contracts seemingly to address the XP bug.
Infinity Ward doesn’t directly mention the farming exploit, but notes that the Most Wanted contracts have been removed ‘until further notice’ while it ‘investigates an issue’.
This bug is hardly the worst that Warzone 2 players have seen so far, as the infamous ‘Superman’ bug has also made a return, after first appearing in Advanced Warfare.
In this case, certain spots on the Al Mazrah map allow you to bounce off them while diving in the air, just like a superhero.
The franchise’s other sequel, Modern Warfare 2, has also had its fair share of issues, as one bug spread chaos amongst players by creating invisible walls in the recently added Shoot House map.
Neither of these bugs have been patched out yet, so you better keep an eye out for enemies sneaking up on you whether you’re playing Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2.
