LIVERPOOL continue their hunt on league leaders Manchester City when they welcome West Ham United to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s men haven’t put a foot wrong as of late as they continue to pick up win after win.
Having secured the first English trophy of the season, the Reds went on to book their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals by scraping a 2-1 victory over Norwich City.
However, Liverpool must now turn their attentions on trying to close the gap between themselves and Pep Guardiola’s team who sit top of the tree.
And for all West Ham’s fantastic work so far, the East London club are beginning to struggle which was evident in their 3-1 exile from the FA Cup on Wednesday so the Reds will be rubbing their hands together.

Team news
Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Thiago’s hamstring injury sustained in the warm up before the Carabao Cup final is a short term issue so he could return to the squad despite missing the 2-1 win over Norwich.
Roberto Firmino was also unavailable with a muscular problem so the Brazilian will need to be assessed ahead of the match.
And Curtis Jones was precautionarily taken off because he felt a tweak in his thigh, but the Liverpool boss stated that “it was not a real injury” so the Englishman should be fit and raring to go.
Angelo Ogbonna is the only long-term absentee for West Ham but Ryan Fredericks, Vladamir Coufal and Arthur Masuaku were all absent for the FA Cup loss against Southampton so their chances of featuring are in jeopardy.
Left-back Aaron Creswell also wasn’t involved so he’ll need to do a late fitness ahead of the trip to Liverpool.

Rice wants to compete for trophies
Asked about his desire to win trophies and play in the Champions League, Rice said: “It is as urgent as possible. I feel like, not only for me, that’s for every young player as well.
“I see friends that are close to me, big players winning big trophies.
“You want to be a part of that. You want to be remembered in this career for what you’ve won. I feel like I am one of the established top players around the world. I am only 23.
“But in terms of my playing ability and the way I’ve performed consistently, I see myself as an established player now who’s got good experience and can play at any level if required.
“We are really close with West Ham at the minute and last season it was gutting to lose out on it but we are pushing.
“We’ll keep going. Champions League is a big aim of mine and hopefully one day I can play in it, and these moments I am having now can spur me on to be even better.”

Top four or pay price
Declan Rice issued a major transfer warning to West Ham by revealing his need to play in the Champions League and win titles is “urgent”, writes Jordan Davies.
Boss David Moyes has hailed the midfielder’s determination and hunger – and has asked the rest of his team-mates to match his level.
Hammers star Rice, 23, has been valued at around £120million by Moyes, with Manchester United and Chelsea showing huge interest in the England star.
Rice’s current deal runs out in June 2024 with no talks scheduled so far to extend that.
And the 27-cap international has hinted yet again his future may lie away from the club after admitting he sees himself as one of the best players in the world.

Welcome to Liverpool vs West Ham
Good afternoon footy fans and welcome to SunSport’s live blog of Liverpool vs West Ham United.
Jurgen Klopp has again set the Kop clock ticking on his departure.
But he is determined his legacy will be in place to keep Liverpool successful long after he has gone.
The German, 54, hinted before the 2-1 FA Cup win over Norwich on Wednesday that he “didn’t really know” if he would alter his exit strategy.
His contract expires in the summer of 2024 and he has long maintained that by then he would have had enough.
Many fans took his midweek response as a hint that he might change his mind because of the quality of the players at his disposal.
But Klopp stressed: “The plan is still the same. I realised when I gave the answer.
“I thought, ‘Oh God’ but I couldn’t take it back. I was just not in the situation at the time.
“If I decide to leave or maybe I get the sack in 2023, who knows? but if I decide to leave in 2024, it’s nothing to do with the quality of the squad.”
Yet he did make one thing clear he will not be leaving Liverpool in the lurch should he head out, with the stewardship of the German national team a possible destination.
Klopp, who takes charge of his 361st game tonight since arriving at Anfield in October 2015, added: “All the things we do are for the long term.
