LEEDS UNITED have condemned the abuse Karen Carney has acquired on social media within the wake of their response to the Amazon Prime pundit’s feedback about their promotion again to the Premier League.
Trolls focused Carney on Tuesday evening after the club’s’ official Twitter account questioned the former Arsenal and Chelsea Ladies star for suggesting the Yorkshire side’s promotion was in part down to the coronavirus pandemic.

Leeds’ social media group have been accused of inviting criticism on Carney, who made the feedback throughout Amazon’s protection of the membership’s 5-0 win over West Brom.
Final season’s Championship winners have been appalled by the response to their tweet and demand the abuse Carney has acquired is totally unwarranted.
A membership spokesperson stated: “Leeds United utterly condemns any abuse acquired by Karen Carney on social media following final evening’s Premier League sport with West Bromwich Albion.
“Everybody at our membership respects Karen vastly for all she has achieved within the sport, in addition to her work within the media and the charity work she undertakes.”
Carney’s feedback got here to the eye of Leeds followers after the club’s official Twitter account shared the footage with the caption: “Promoted due to Covid.
“Gained the league by 10 factors. Hello @primevideosport”.
Leeds haven’t apologised for the tweet itself, though chairman Andrea Radrizzani has defended the membership’s actions.
In response to a tweet claiming the membership took half in a ‘disgusting act’, the Italian stated: “I take the duty of the Membership tweet.”
He added: “I think about that remark utterly pointless and disrespectful to our Membership and significantly to the implausible onerous work of our gamers and coaches whom have been understanding on the pitch for the final two championship seasons by all stats.”
Carney, who retired from soccer final July, has but to publicly tackle the abuse she acquired.
Girls in Soccer, nevertheless, have handed touch upon the incident, condemning Leeds for his or her actions.
They stated: “Whether or not you agree with the remark or not, singling out and ridiculing a person on an official membership account will not be what we’re right here for.
‘Karen Carney is a well-informed pundit. This tweet is inciteful & inappropriate. Not an excellent look now, or at any time.”
