TOP Gear fans were left disappointed on Sunday night as Freddie Flintoff was missing from the action – branding the show “rubbish” without him.
The former cricketer failed to make it out to Iceland to join his co-hosts Paddy McGuiness and Chris Harris for the ultimate off-road race up a volcano.

Freddie, 43, was missing from the opening of the show as co-stars Paddy, 48, and Chris, 46, revealed they had travelled to Iceland for the most recent episode.
The stars revealed that they travelled to Iceland alongside their cars due to the “few options” for travel over the summer due to coronavirus restrictions.
But nonetheless, Freddie still had to miss out on the trip as Paddy explained that the father-of-four had to self-isolate as they were due to leave.
“I can’t believe that Flintoff’s not here – he would love this,” the TV host said as they walked through the sparse landscape of black sand and rolling hills.
“Unfortunately, the day before we travelled, Flintoff had been forced to self-isolate and so couldn’t join the trip,” Chris explained of their missing co-host.
The pair went on to get stuck in racing their cars – a Rolls Royce Phantom and a Vauxhalll Chevette – through the incredible landscape.
But fans were left disappointed that the cricketer wasn’t able to join them, and quickly flooded Twitter with complaints that the show as “rubbish” without him.
“Where’s Freddie? Its just not the same, I miss him,” one viewer wrote, as a second chimed in: “Top Gear is a bit s*** tonight without Freddie.”
“Without Freddie, Top Gear is worse than when S Club 7 became S Club,” a third joked, as a fourth scathed: “Utter rubbish. Switched off.”
“Hearing ‘Flintoff couldn’t make it’ and wondering why I’m still watching,” wrote a fifth, as a sixth fan concluding: “Not being funny but WHERE IS FREDDIE?”
While Freddie didn’t make it abroad, he was seen later on in the episode back in the UK test-driving a brand new Corvette.
