One of the workers told their colleague he had arrived with “14 Cocker Spaniels and a few other poodles”, but his initially randy nature meant he had to be separated from his group.
The narrator explained: “To stop any puppies, Jim the poodle is to be separated from the girls in his group. It’s the first time, he’ll have ever been alone.”
Later in the programme, another of the staff members was stroking Jim and said: “jim’s never really had a family. he’s not had a home, he’s got no understanding of walks or most things dogs take for granted he’s never had.
“He might always be a bit nervous, time will tell.”

Lexi and her mum arrived hoping to find a dog that would calm and comfort Lexi who is is a big worrier
Sure enough, a little girl named Lexi arrived at the centre with her mother in the hope of finding a dog to calm her own nerves.
Lexi and her mum revealed she could be awake all night worrying something bad was going to happen to her mother, and they hoped a dog would be a calming and reassuring influence on her.
When Lexi and Jim first met, both seemed a little nervous of each other, but in the end it was revealed Jim had been adopted by the family and with permission from Wood Green, renamed Buddy.
Lexi was seen cuddling, stroking and playing with Buddy as her mum said: “It’s lovely to see Lexi and Buddy together, they were just made for each other.
Lexi looked unsure of Jim at first but they got a happy ending
“She’s sleeping a lot better with Buddy at the end of her bed.”
Lexi added sweetly: “I can’t believe what I was missing, [all] those years.”

Another added: “TheDogHouse why did nobody warn me I’d be crying within minutes.”
A third tweeted: “#thedoghouse Crying happy tears. Love The dog house.”
