THE Chase host Bradley Walsh feigned sheer outrage as Chaser Jenny Ryan made what he deemed an “unnecessary” dig about his age.
The brainbox, otherwise dubbed The Vixen on ITV‘s tea-time series, made her quip following a quirky question about parsnips on Monday’s show.

Peas, peppers and parsnips were the options for the old adage, and clever contestant Neville selected parsnips as his answer to progress to £40,000.
It proved to be the correct response, leading the show anchor to gush: “What a great question that was, that question was sensational.
“I would’ve nailed that all day long! Knew it! I tell you what mate, proverbially a fine word, do you know what they don’t butter no parsnips.

“You’re through to the final with £40,000, go take your butter and your parsnips and melt away.”
Bradley then turned his attention to red-head Jenny as he asked: “Have you ever said it?”
As she admitted she had, he teased: “Is it from Bolton?” – her home town.
Jenny confirmed: “No it’s not from Bolton. I thought it was a middle class Victorian saying?”

Yet her choice of era sparked mock fury for Bradley who replied: “Middle class Victorian – how old do you think I am?
“I mean I’m old, but that’s unnecessary.”
Bradley may well have felt a little older this weekend as it was revealed he’s set to take the title of grandfather, after his daughter Hayley revealed she is pregnant.
Meanwhile, the game show host was left equally baffled over age when contestant and fellow grandad Mervin revealed he is 54 – with many fans believing he was years younger.
