RYAN Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh’s dream to launch their own DIY makeover show have been reportedly turned down.
ITV are thought to have dashed the couple’s hopes of documenting their house renovations for a new show.

The engaged couple recently bought a new home in Ryan’s native Manchester and are said to have had an idea to record the property makeover project with a film crew and cash in on the property porn market.
But according to the Mirror their idea was rejected by the broadcaster.
“Ryan and Lucy thought their makeover show plan would be a dead cert for ITV, given their previous profiles on Coronation Street and The Only Way Is Essex,” a source said.
“It would have had the added bonus that they’d have got lots of free labour and materials, and been paid to appear in the show.

“But ITV turned them down. They’ve also punted the idea to Channel 5 but haven’t heard anything back.”
The Sun has contacted Ryan and Lucy’s representative for comment.
The source alleges Lucy and Ryan’s home show idea was too similar to Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries.
That show on ITVBe follows Billie Faiers and husband Greg Shepherd as they refurbish their mansion.

Now Ryan, 36, and Lucy, 29, have been uploading videos and photos of their building work on social media, giving fans updates on various stages of the makeover much like Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan have been doing with their new build project.
On Saturday, former Corrie star Ryan took to Instagram to give his followers a sneak peek of development.
He shared before and after photos of a wall being knocked down and it looks like they are going all open plan.
Ryan recently revealed he’s incurred his fiancée Lucy’s wrath after he bought a house without her knowledge.

Last month, the former Coronation Street actor splashed out on a new family home in Cheshire for Lucy and their son Roman without her ever viewing the property.
Speaking on Friday’s episode of Lorraine, Ryan admitted: “I’m still in trouble today. We’re not even in the house yet, it’s a building site. I can’t see light at the end of the tunnel.
“Eventually it’ll be ok, but right now, everyone knows moving house is hard work, I’ve taken on more than I can chew with the house, but eventually we’ll be happy.”
Right now the pair are living in Essex with their 13-month-old son and travelling up and down the country to complete their dream home.
