Richard Madeley wasn’t able to spend his 35th wedding anniversary with wife Judy Finnigan but his presence was certainly felt thanks to a generous gift.
The TV presenter was taking part in the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here when he missed the couple’s milestone anniversary on November 21.
However, he made sure Judy felt special on the big day by gifting her an emerald ring.
Speaking on Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, Richard, 65, said: ‘It was our 35th wedding anniversary in the castle and I left her with an emerald ring.’
When Susanna Reid asked how much the ring cost, Richard replied almost immediately: ‘£750,000.’
Susanna and entertainment presenter Richard Arnold pulled shocked expressions, to which Richard laughed and admitted: ‘Of course not.’
Poking fun at his lucrative pay cheque for appearing on I’m A Celeb, Susanna quipped: ‘That was almost all your fee, wasn’t it?’

Richard joined in: ‘And well-earned it was over a couple of days,’ referring to the TV presenter being forced to quit the series after a few days due to breaking the camp’s Covid bubble when he visited hospital.
Despite him being miles away in Wales at the time, a post was shared to Richard’s Instagram account on the anniversary featuring a photo of Judy, 73, with daughter Chloe, son Jack and grandson Kit.
It included the caption: ‘Are you ready? We are ready…One hour to go… #teammadeley can’t wait to see Richard on his and Judy’s 35th wedding anniversary. How do you think he’ll do?’
Before going into the castle, Richard opened up about the prospect of spending his first wedding anniversary away from Judy in his Express column.
He wrote: ‘On Sunday, that’s our 35th wedding anniversary actually. So that will be the first wedding anniversary that I’ve missed and it’s a big one. I gave her a present before we left and a card which she will open on the day.
‘We’re going to really miss each other. I’ll miss her a huge amount. I spend every day of my life with her, either working with her or in the house.
‘I’m already feeling strangely dislocated. She’s my right arm and she’s not here.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
