Piers Morgan met his match as he challenged Pamela Anderson on her claim that vegans have better sex.
The Baywatch star sparked a blushing debate over the weekend when she tweeted that ‘vegans make better lovers’ as the cholesterol in meat, eggs and dairy causes the hardening of arteries ‘and not much else’.
Of course, the tweet caught Piers’ eye and he couldn’t wait to pick Pamela’s brain about it on Good Morning Britain on Monday.
‘There’s a lot of research that went into this,’ Pamela insisted to the presenter before adding teasingly: ‘More fun things happen even when you’re sleeping. You’re the perfect candidate for veganism.’
Piers then swiped back: ‘I can assure you, fun things happen to us too,’ but it was a little too much for Susanna Reid who cringed: ‘I can’t believe we’re divulging all this information on-air.’
Continuing the debate, Piers noted to Pamela: ‘It’s an interesting debate but it’s your assertion that vegans have better sex lives than meat eaters,’ to which the actress replied: ‘I’m vegan, I’m fairly confident in that statement.’
Pamela has been vegan for around 30 years and when asked if her sex life improved once she cut meat out of her diet, she revealed: ‘Yes, definitely but I’ve always had a lot of fun in that department.’

Piers then concluded: ‘The jury’s out Pamela. I did offer on Twitter to test this theory Pamela, but I notice you didn’t respond to my intrigue…’
Susanna then interjected: ‘No, because that was really sleazy.’
However, Pamela brushed off the offer and laughed: ‘Typical Piers!’
Dr Hilary Jones joined the chat and offered his expert medical opinion on Pamela’s bold claims.
When asked if eating healthy and veganism can boost your sex drive, Dr Hilary explained: ‘It can be but not necessarily. You could eat chips all day and still have a vegan diet.
‘If you’re educated and knowledgeable about veganism of course you can have all the nutrients that you need but of course it’s very difficult.
‘The amount of cholesterol you eat in meat and dairy, the blood flow to the rest of your body becomes restricted.’
He added of Pamela’s statement: ‘It’s stretching a point to a great degree
‘You can have high cholesterol levels if you’re a vegan if you’re eating the wrong food. As far as too much red meat, there is the possibility that your arteries could suffer too.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
