Piers Morgan only just made amends with Matt Hancock but he may have already thrown a spanner in the works after joking about the health secretary being described as ‘good looking’.
The TV presenter reacted to an elderly woman calling Hancock the ‘good looking one’ this week as he visited her care home.
After playing the clip on Good Morning Britain, a highly amused Piers questioned: ‘Do you think he’s ever been told that in his life?
‘He couldn’t believe it himself, could he? He was absolutely startled, what?’
Piers then claimed: ‘Nobody’s ever called him good looking, I doubt it.’
Susanna Reid jumped to Hancock’s defence and argued: ‘Oh Piers, he’s not bad looking,’ to which the presenter insisted: ‘I’m not being unfair.’
Even Dr Hilary tried to throw the minister a bone and offered: ‘He’s very personable, it’s all part of the treatment we get in the NHS.’

However, Piers continued: ‘He’s a bit weird isn’t he, Hancock? I’m not making this personal. I don’t think anyone would argue he’s a bit weird. I think most government ministers are a bit weird. You’re a bit weird to want to go into it.’
Later in the episode, he also laughed at a photo of Hancock riding a horse.
Viewers were divided with Pier’s comments on Hancock’s looks with some agreeing and others sharing their other secret government crushes.
One GMB viewer weighed in: ‘On the subject of matt hancock, I think its bcos none of us get out much these days.men on our screens are seeming more attractive than usual, know what I mean piers [sic].’

A smitten viewer defended the health secretary, tweeting: ‘At the start of lockdown I dreamed I married @MattHancock, he was riding a white horse and rescued me like a princess, @GMB maybe I’m weird now.’
‘Thats not a dream sweetheart, thats a nightmare,’ one follower replied.
Another Hancock fan said: ‘Matt Hancock is the boy he ticks all the boxes for me.’
Thanking Piers for the light relief, one tweeted: ‘Oh Piers During these dark times you saying Michael Gove as a pin up! And Matt Hancock doing Karaoke, Omg I’ve not laughed so much in ages, You deserve a BAFTA for that you’ve certainly made a dark January much lighter thank you!’
