Naughty Boy’s mother can’t watch his tense trials on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! as her dementia means she’d likely believe he was ‘in trouble’.
The music producer is currently taking part in this year’s series of the ITV reality programme, and yesterday smashed his trial, named Savage Stakeout, where he was covered in crickets and other creepy crawlies while strapped down.
For the first time, he was able to collect 11 stars bringing home dinner for the rest of the camp.
However, Naughty Boy’s mother – who suffers from dementia – did not tune in.
His niece Aisha Shaban said on Good Morning Britain: ‘We watch altogether every night and when he does the trials we make sure she doesn’t watch it because with dementia you tend to assume everything’s happening, everything’s true, so if she saw him in the trial, she’d think he’s in trouble.
‘We don’t let her watch him in the trials but otherwise she sees him on TV, she’ll talk to the TV like it’s Facetime and she’ll say “hello my son” and she cheers for him, it’s so sweet.

‘We’re recording every moment so we can show him when he’s back.’
Aisha continued: ‘Seeing him every night on the telly does give her comfort because otherwise she’s very used to seeing him everyday. Although that did have an impact on her the first few days when he was away, I think now she’s very much used to him being away now. She knows everyday at 9 o’clock he’s on the TV.’
Naughty Boy, real name Shahid Khan, is his mum’s full time carer and was forced to pull out of taking part in I’m A Celebrity last year due to her falling ill.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am while I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here returns tonight at 9pm.
