Is romance in the air in season 2? (Picture: Netflix)
Emily in Paris fans have been treated to new first look images ahead of season 2, and it looks like romance could be on the horizon.
Netflix released new images from the upcoming episodes which show Emily, played by Lily Collins, stepping out by the Eiffel Tower with new love interest Alfie, played by Lucien Laviscount.
The actor is joining the cast for the first time in the second season, and it looks like he could be charming his way into Emily’s heart.
While we still don’t know a huge amount about the new character, he is described as a sarcastic but charming young man who refuses to involve himself too deeply in French culture.
The pictures also show Emily looking every inch the fashionista on the streets of the City of Love, as well as dining out in a plush restaurant and cocktail bar.
The description of season two reads: ‘Now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily’s getting better at navigating the city but still struggling with the idiosyncrasies of French life.’
It continues: ‘After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work — which is getting more complicated by the day. In French class, she meets a fellow expat [Alfie] who both infuriates and intrigues her.’
It comes after many observers questioned how Emily In Paris landed its Emmy nomination this year considering the barrage of backlash sent its way following its release last October.
The programme was also caught up in a controversy earlier this year when it was nominated for a Golden Globe.
A release date for Emily in Paris season two has yet to be released.
Emily in Paris is available to stream on Netflix.
