Candice LeRae has left WWE after five years with the company.
The NXT star – who held the brand’s Women’s Tag Team Titles with The Way partner Indi Hartwell – has reportedly decided to leave as her contract expired, and she is now a free agent.
The 36-year-old wrestler is now listed on the alumni section of WWE’s official website.
Her departure comes after her husband Johnny Gargano – with whom she welcomed baby boy Quill in February – decided to walk away in November 2021 to focus on being a dad.
As previously reported by Fightful, her contract was due to expired this spring, and it seems she decided not to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Candice is yet to publicly address her departure.
Although Candice appeared on screen during her pregnancy, she obviously stepped back from in-ring action.
Her final match for WWE NXT came last summer at The Great American Bash, as she and Indi lost their championships to Io Shirai and Zoey Stark.
Meanwhile, she last wrestled in singles action in January 2021, when she defeated Shotzi Blackheart.
Gargano previously opened up on his decision to leave, and he insisted it was simply a case of timing and wanting to step away after being such a prominent part of the black and gold brand for so long.
He explained: ‘I wasn’t leaving to go to any particular place, I kind of just felt like I needed to go because if you watch a TV show or anything in general and you see the same character, obviously I changed character, but if you see the same person on TV for 5 years, 6 years, it gets stale.
‘I believe that being off TV and being away makes people miss you and I think people have to have a chance to miss you and if they don’t, they don’t really care in general.’
