Laura, 41, who is best known for playing Shelagh Turner in the BBC One show, is normally seen wearing a nurse’s uniform on screen.
Now, the star has swapped her signature blue overalls and red cardigan for a much more modern and sophisticated look.
Laura opted for a pair of high stilettos, which wrapped around her ankles, as she donned the short silk gown for an evening out.
She completed her look with a glamorous palette of make-up including a red lip and darkened eyelashes, with a dewy complexion.
Laura also added a gold chain necklace and a faux-snakeskin bag as she posed for a series of snaps posted to Instagram.
The Call the Midwife actress told fans she was off to a party in the Claridge’s Hotel in London as she posed in her swanky living room.
“Last week I was out out!” she wrote in the caption, explaining she had been invited to a bash hosted by the RadioTimes.
“Thank you RadioTimes for inviting me to your legendary, normally annual, Covers Party as Call The Midwife has been on a fair few covers over the last decade.
“Even though Shelagh is yet to feature – not hinting – I’ve had the honour of going a fair few times.
“It still feels a little strange to be goin gout, I won’t lie, but it is so good for the soul to be doing things again.
“I certainly haven’t looked like this much in the last couple of years!”
Fans flocked to the comments section to gush over Laura’s new look and tell her how different she looked from her character.
“Looking gorg,” one wrote, as a second chimed in: “Gorgeous!”
