The BBC adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Conversations With Friends has announced its casting, with Joe Alwyn, Jemima Kirke, and Alison Oliver set to star.
Emerging talent Alison will play Frances, while American Honey actress Sasha Lane is taking on the role of Bobbi.
Sex Education star Jemima will be playing Melissa, while Joe, who has starred in The Favourite and Harriet, will play her husband Nick.
Joe is also well known for being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, and her collaborator on her album Evermore.
The story follows Frances (Alison), a 21-year-old college student, as she navigates a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time.

She and her ex-girlfriend and now best friend Bobbi (Sasha) meet Melissa (Jemima), an older writer who is fascinated by them both, and introduces them to her husband Nick (Joe).
While Melissa and Bobbi flirt with each other openly, Nick and Frances embark on an intense, secret affair that is surprising to them both.
Filming for the series is set to take place in Dublin, Belfast and other unconfirmed locations overseas.

Meanwhile, fans will be hyped to hear that Normal People director Lenny Abrahamson is returning, sharing the duties with Leanne Welham.
Lenny said: ‘I feel so excited to be collaborating with four such superb actors to bring Sally’s brilliant novel to the screen. Over the last few months it has been a privilege to work alongside Element Pictures and our extraordinary team of writers to get the scripts to a point where we all feel so excited to start shooting.
‘I’ll be joined by a world class crew (many of whom worked on Normal People) and supporting cast and I’m particularly happy to have Leanne Welham come on board. I’ve been an admirer of her work for a long time and I have no doubt she will bring great skill and subtlety to the episodes she directs.’
Normal People became a huge overnight hit, even breaking records for the BBC.
It starred Daisy Edgar-Jones as Marianne and Paul Mescal as Connell, skyrocketing the pair to fame as fans got hooked on the series.
Conversations with Friends will premiere on BBC Three and air on BBC One next year.
