Korn has rescheduled a number of their tour dates after singer frontman Jonathan Davis tested positive for Covid-19.
The nu-metal band were forced to cancel a concert in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Saturday hours before its start time due to a ‘confirmed Covid-19 case within the Korn camp’.
It has now been confirmed that Davis tested positive, and he is now ‘resting and recovering’.
A statement shared on the band’s socials read: ‘On Saturday, we received the unfortunate news that Jonathan tested positive for Covid, and needless to say, we had to postpone the show last minute. As a result of his positive test, we also need to reschedule the next handful of shows.
‘As always, our primary goal is to ensure the safety of everyone involved, so this is something that has to be done. Jonathan’s spirits are high, and he’s resting and recovering now. We’re as disappointed as you are about the circumstances, but we’ll get through it though, and we can’t wait to see you once we’re back, firing on all cylinders once again.
‘We thank you all for your love and support!’
The Scranton show has been rescheduled for September 25, while dates in New Jersey and New York have also been pushed to September and Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire dates will now take place in October.
Gigs at the Darien Center and Syracuse in New York have been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.
Fans wished Davis well in the comments, with one writing: ‘Health is more important than a concert.’
The band’s next date is August 27 at Tinley Park, Illinois.
The Freak On A Leash stars had begun their summer tour on August 5 in West Palm Beach, Florida, with Staind also on the bill.
Like many bands, Korn were forced to scrap their 2020 tour dates due to the pandemic, having initially planned to tour with Faith No More.
Korn are set to visit the UK next summer, as they have been announced for the 2022 Download Festival line-up.
Earlier this year, the band’s bassist Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu confirmed he would not be joining Korn on tour, and has gone on hiatus due to ‘dealing with some personal issues that at times have caused me to fall back on some of my bad habits and has caused some tension with the people around me’.
