Three acts nominated for the 2021 Finest kids’s album Grammy Award have declined their nomination as a protest over the all-white record of nominees of their class.
Out of the 5 acts given a nod for the gong, Alistair Moock, Canine on Fleas and the Okee Dokee Brothers have chosen to show down the respect.
Moock landed his nomination for scoring Be A Ache, which tells the story of notable People who stood up for his or her rules – together with Rosa Parks, LGBT trailblazer Harvey Milk, and The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
The musician defined his choice to NPR as he said: ‘After this yr, to have an all-white slate of nominees appeared actually tone-deaf.’
