A wannabe serial killer met a teenager on dating app Grindr, then tried to saw his victim’s hands off, and burst every blood vessel on his face, it is claimed.
That homophobe – named as Chance Seneca, 19 – allegedly attacked 18 year-old Holden White after inviting White over to his home in Lafayette, Louisiana, in June 2020.
Seneca’s Facebook profile photo is of Jeffrey Dahmer – an infamous gay serial killer who murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Dahmer was jailed for life in 1992, and murdered behind bars in 1994.
White told of how he and Seneca began playing video games after meeting, only for Seneca to return and try to strangle him with a cord. Holden recalled: ‘Everything seemed fine. Nothing seemed weird, and we decided after a month of talking we should like meet.
‘He left the room to get something, and then he came back. And when he came back, he had came up behind me and that’s when he wrapped a cord around my throat.’ The pressure of the cord ruptured multiple blood vessels in White’s face, and made him black out.
He continued: ‘The next thing I remember I was in the bathtub, and he was slicing open my left wrist. I was saying my final words to myself which were just, “Stay calm.”‘ Seneca tried to saw through White’s wrists, and almost managed to cut his hands off.
White managed to survive the hate attack, and woke up in hospital two days later, with a breathing tube down his throat, and bandages covering his body. Seneca allegedly called Lafayette Police Department to say he had killed a man, not realizing that White was still alive.
White spent a month in hospital, and was forced to quit his job because the slash wounds to his hands left him unable to do it. Five months on, he has finally regained the full function of his right hand, with his left hand still partially numb.

Seneca remains in prison, with the FBI investigating whether the incident was a hate crime.
White is adamant is was, and told KLFY: ‘He chose to go on the app Grindr. He went on an app designated for gay people.
‘He chose to choose someone who is gay and very proud of his sexuality. He said this in prison. He said he chose me because I have a smaller stature and it would be easier to kill me. He knew what he was doing.
‘This was preplanned, and when you look at his Facebook, his profile picture is Jeffrey Dahmer, and if you know the previous history about Jeffrey Dahmer, then you can clearly understand all the reasoning on why he wanted to do what he did.

‘So this is a hate crime to me. It will always be a hate crime to me.’
Seneca is being held in jail, and is due in court for a pre-trial hearing on March 3.
White says he is still using Grindr to go on dates – but that he now only meets guys in public places.
