An 11-year-old girl was who filmed fighting off a sex offender who tried to kidnap her has said she knew that leaving a trail of evidence would help police catch her attacker.
Schoolgirl Alyssa Bonal was targeted in an attempted kidnapping while waiting at a bus stop in West Pensacola, Florida, on Tuesday morning. Surveillance footage captured the incident and showed a man try to grab Alyssa off the street take her back to his truck.
Alyssa managed to escape from her attacker, allegedly Jared Stanga, 30, who was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping accused of trying to abduct the girl.
Speaking to the Pensacola News Journal Alyssa’s mother, Amber, said that her daughter intentionally wiped blue slime from a toy she was playing with when she was attacked on her alleged kidnapper – a tip she picked up from watching ‘Law & Order’ with her mom.

Speaking to the outlet Amber, aged 30, said: ‘Her first words were, ‘somebody tried to kidnap me. He grabbed me by my throat and he had a knife!’.
‘She said she was able to kick and she tripped him and freed herself.’
‘She said “mom, I had to leave some sort of evidence behind, like on Law & Order SVU”.
‘We’ve watched probably every episode on Hulu. She’s a smart cookie, she thinks on her toes, she got that slime everywhere.’
In addition to the surveillance footage, the blue slime helped investigators single Stanga out as their prime suspect in the case.
Escambia County sheriff, Chip Simmons, said the suspect had a white Dodge Journey with a license plate that matched the one seen in the footage.
Stanga made an initial virtual court appearance Wednesday charged with attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery in connection with the incident.
In a separate interview with WKRG, Alyssa has bravely spoken out to recall the frightening moments her attacker approached her with a knife.
‘What is he going to do with me?’, the schoolgirl told the outlet.
She added: ‘Where is he going to…where am I going to be at? What is my family going to think? Scared … anxious.
‘He had a knife in his hand. I tried running off but he grabbed me.
‘He took me with his arm and I was able to get him down to the ground and I was able to get away.’
Alyssa added that her neighbor’s door was open so she ran to his house for safety.
‘She comes running around the corner toward me hollering my name and some guy was trying to get her’, Douglass Rudolph said.
Amber said she has been trying to move her family, including her son, Christopher, and 18-month-old daughter, Jazzlyn – who live in a trailer – to ‘a better part of town’.
The mother added that on April 29, Alyssa came home from school and told her that a strange man had approached her.

‘She told me that a man in a white car pulled up, spoke to her and said ‘hello’ or ‘Hola’ or something’, she said.
‘He proceeded to get out of the car, and then that’s when she ran off to the next bust stop and got on the bus. She went to school, told her teacher and the teacher told the principal.’
Amber also said she usually accompanies her daughter to the bus stop every day but on Tuesday chose not to because Jazzlyn needed her diaper changing.
‘We were running late. She usually leaves for the bus stop at 6:50, and it was 6:52’, Amber said.
‘I told her to go ahead and I would be out there in a minute, I start changing the baby’s diaper.
‘I hadn’t even finished changing the diaper before she ran back in the house. Her hair was all messed up, she had slime everywhere and I asked her what was going on.
‘I thought maybe she had been hit by a car, but I never would have thought somebody would have tried to take her’, Amber told the News Journal.
Although Alyssa is still recovering from the trauma of the incident, she went to school as usual Wednesday.
During Stanga’s court appearance on Wednesday, prosecutor Erin Ambrose called him a clear threat to the community.
Judge Kerra Smith set a $1 million bond for the attempted kidnapping charge, $500,000 on the aggravated assault charge and $5,000 on the battery charge, the News Journal reported.
