A babysitter with extreme arthritis dropped a child she was holding as she walked down the steps, then fell on prime of the toddler and killed him, police say.
Stephanie Walker, 39, allegedly misplaced her grasp on two month-old D’Juan Anderson on December 12 at a house in Brooklyn Middle, Minnesota, and dropped him onto a tough ground.
Walker, who has now been charged with manslaughter, then collapsed on prime of D’Juan, inflicting a number of cranium fractures that ended up killing the teen two days later, it’s claimed.
Investigators say Walker did not get assist for D’Juan after the accident, even after he stopped respiration. A physician who handled the little boy mentioned his life probably might have been saved had he been handled shortly after the accident.
D’Juan was being cared for by his mom’s foster mom, named as HB in court docket papers, after his mother went away for the weekend. Walker had agreed to step in to assist out whereas HB ran an errand, based on court docket papers.
HB is alleged to have instructed police she had issues about Walker’s arthritis, which made it tough for her to stand-up and transfer round.
Walker was taking place a set of steps to examine on her personal son when she dropped D’Juan, it’s alleged, and is alleged to have denied all information of what occurred when police arrived on the home, based on Sun Post.
Walker shared what she mentioned had occurred after being arrested by police and questioned.
She faces as much as 10 years behind bars if convicted of second-degree manslaughter.
