Most people probably use Snapchat to stay in touch with their friends and family by sending disappearing photos and text messages.
But Snapchat Spotlight invites users to share their snaps to a wider audience—and they can even get paid.
Snapchat wants its users to share videos of them doing dances, challenges, and trends, and said it will pay users whose videos perform well on the app.
So when should you post on Snapchat Spotlight, and how can you increase your chances of being featured?
What is Snapchat Spotlight?
Snapchat Spotlight is a public feed within the Snapchat app. It is a curated feed of posts that have been submitted by users and selected by moderators.
The videos are mostly short, entertaining videos like challenges, dances, or story times, similar to the content you may find on TikTok or Instagram Reels.
Unlike Snapchat’s messaging service, which users can use to send private messages, the content published on Spotlight will be available for everyone to see.
When is the best time to post on Snapchat Spotlight?
People use different social media apps at different times, so why it may be better to post on Instagram in the late afternoon, TikTok users may want to wait until the evening.
But as Snapchat fans will know, not every post submitted to Spotlight will go live. The submissions are moderated beforehand, and Snapchat will decide whether or not to make the post public.
Therefore, unlike other social media apps that allow you to post whenever you want, it’s hard to determine when—or if—your Spotlight will be posted.
However, if you want to increase your chances of being featured on Spotlight, you should post original, creative content frequently.
