THE swimming pool that impressed the title for band Oasis is not going to stay perpetually.
Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon will merely slide away as soon as the present lockdown measures are lifted on December 3.

The operator of the location, which features a health club and live performance corridor, is handing again the lease as it’s “dropping cash whereas accruing important hire liabilities”.
The Slide Away stars adopted the title when Liam Gallagher noticed the venue on a poster for the band Inspiral Carpets hanging within the bed room he shared with older brother Noel.
They modified from being known as Rain to Oasis — and went on to promote 75million data worldwide.
Twenty years later in 2011, Liam, 48, carried out there together with his band, Beady Eye.
However leisure operator GLL says: “The closure for over 5 months resulting from lockdowns, coupled with decreased capability, created difficult circumstances.”
GLL’s regional director for Swindon Jamie Coleshill mentioned: “We recognise the numerous influence the closure of the Oasis could have on our prospects – notably the lack of the distinctive, albeit very drained, leisure swimming pools.
“Closing leisure services and decreasing employees numbers just isn’t a call we take evenly. It’s with nice remorse that we now have come thus far, however we consider it’s the solely possibility obtainable to us.
“As a charitable social enterprise, we aren’t ready to proceed working a facility that requires capital funding and is dropping cash, whereas accruing important hire liabilities.”
