POLICE are probing a theory that stabbed plastic surgeon Graeme Perks was attacked after disturbing an arsonist at his £800,000 home.
Officers found the former vicarage doused in petrol, it emerged last night — as Mr Perks, 65, fought for life in hospital.

It means the culprit could have been attempting to harm his entire family because his wife and at least one of their four children are said to have been sleeping there at the time.

Mr Perks is said to have been alerted by breaking glass at his home in Halam, Notts, at around 4.15am on Thursday.
He suffered wounds to his abdomen and chest.
Cops were yesterday continuing to question fellow doctor Jonathan Brooks, 55.
