The body was discovered in the early hours of Friday morning, according to Thames Valley Police, prompting an immediate probe.
A large police presence has remained at the scene over the weekend as inquiries continue.
The investigation has resulted in huge traffic disruptions after officers closed lanes on the M4 westbound.
The slip road exit onto the M25 in both directions has also been shut amid the gruesome find.
It is not clear how long the closures will remain in place, but the force warned the investigation could “take several days.”
The man has not yet been formally identified but police are working to establish how he died and whether anyone else was involved.
A pathologist is understood to have examined the body at the scene before it was set to be taken to the mortuary in Wexham Park Hospital.
The lanes on the M4 remained cordoned off on Sunday as cops and forensic teams scoured the field.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said today: “We were called to a report that a body of a man had been found on land near to the M4 at around 4.20am on Friday morning.
“At this time, he has not been formally identified.
“His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.
“This may take several days.
“As a result of the investigation, there is a police presence on the land near to the M4 and lane closures have had to be put in place.
“These road closures are one lane closed on the slip road at junction 4b, another lane closed on the M4 from junction 4b westbound and the slip road exit on the M25 to the M4 is also closed.
“We would like to thank people for their patience and understanding whilst we carry out this important investigation.
“Further road closures were put in place around the M4 in Slough today (Sun) while officers continue to investigate the unexplained death.
“The M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise slip roads onto the M4 westbound have now been fully closed.

“The M4 Junction 4b to 5 on the westbound carriageway are down to one live lane only.
“As such, drivers are advised to take alternative routes if possible and to avoid the area if they can.”
