Londoners have been living in the capital for over a year now without really benefiting from anything that makes London, well, London: the hub of the West End, the variety of restaurants, the ability to find a great pub tucked away somewhere.
Fortunately, Londoners (and the rest of the country) will get a sense of normality back from tomorrow, April 12, as pubs and restaurants can reopen and begin serving customers outdoors again – just in time for a mini heatwave, too.
If you can’t wait to get your group of six (or two households) together and enjoy a proper pint or pub lunch, here’s how to find your nearest open pub.
Where’s your nearest beer garden?
Metro.co.uk have already done a lot of the thirsty work, teaming up with Bar Fox to bring you our pick of some of the best pub terraces reopening from April 12.

These locations extend across all different boroughs and give you the details needed to make a booking – but best act fast, it’s likely many places are already filling up.
If you don’t know whereabouts in London you’re going to end up – perhaps you’ve gone for a walk – you can use this nifty Google Maps created by a heroic person or people.
The filtered map shows all the outdoor beer gardens with a heater, and you can find the nearest one to your location.
Alternatively, a new app called Boozr is available to download that helps people see which local venues are opening their beer gardens from April 12.
What are the new rules for going to the pub?
Before rushing off as soon as doors open, remember that there’s new rules to go with the pubs reopening.
Groups of no more than six – or two separate households – can meet.
This time, every single member of your group must check-in at the venue, either through the Track and Trace app or by leaving contact details.
Payments can happen indoors (a relief for areas with unstable WiFi outdoors) but it’ll be suggested that all orders and payments be made outside where possible.
