And in a recent video on the social media site, captioned #parentingdonerightish, she revealed the clever way she ensures she has some time to herself for a shower.
“Don’t open this with your kids around,” Kat began. “I’ve got a new technique – you can thank me later.
“Tired of having a shower without the kids annoying you? Sick of hiding in a closet when you want that last bag of chips to yourself?
“Wanna go to the toilet in peace? Want to take just one phone call for five minutes without getting asked for something to eat?”
“This is what you do.”
Kat went on to suggest that you put a “splash of bleach” in the sink to give your house a clean smell, grab the mop and put it across the entrance to whichever room you’re trying to have some time out in.
Then, shout to your children, “Kids, I’ve just mopped the floors – you can’t come out for at least 15 minutes”.
She demonstrated the hack in her video, and her kids could be heard shouting back “Okay!”
“You’re welcome,” Kat concluded, winking at the camera.
The comments section on the video was quickly flooded with praise from grateful parents, including one who wrote: “That’s definitely your best tip so far. bravo.”
“It just came to me like a stroke of brilliance,” Kat replied.
