TIKTOK has become a place where many trends take off – and a big one recently is eyebrow lamination.
Eyebrow lamination involves the “perming” of eyebrow hairs to provide a fuller, more even look.

After having seen a stream of videos of fellow beauty lovers getting their brows laminated, TikTok user Alena Sankey, decided to give the viral trend a go.
But Alena was horrified when four weeks after her treatment, her eyebrows started to fall out.
Leaving Alena with barely any eyebrow hairs left.
Alena uploaded her warning video to TikTok, with the caption ‘DO NOT GET BROW LAMINATION!! Does anybody have any tips on making your brows grow back’.

She said: “Do not get brow lamination!!
“I won’t lie, I hated it straight after.
“But I did have a few good days where I loved how full they looked.
“And now four weeks later they’re almost completely bald.”
In the video we see Alena’s eyebrow journey – from straight after having the procedure done, a few days later and then four weeks later.
At first, Alena’s eyebrows are very full but four weeks later and there is a lot of noticeable hair loss.
Alena explained that her eyebrows were done by a professional and she was not aware that hair loss was a possibility.
She continued: “They were done by a professional, she does most of my beauty treatments and I never have anything to fault her for.
“I don’t want to sit and throw shade on the therapist. I don’t know the cause for this, I was just never warned that this was a possibility.
“Over the last 4 weeks they’ve just been falling out, I have almost no hairs on the ends now.
“Complete opposite to what I was aiming for by getting the treatment.
“I wasn’t given any aftercare advice other than not to get them wet for 24 hours.
“I honestly can’t believe it, never had any beauty nightmare stories just never think it will happen to you do you.”
Alena’s video has clearly shocked many as it has racked up 79k views.
It has 2,114 likes, 156 comments and 104 shares.

TikTok users were appalled at Alena’s hair loss and took to the comments to express this.
One person said: “That happened to me! It’s when the person leaves the products on for far too long ! I’m trained in brow lamination and this should have never happened.”
Another added: “I’m a brow specialist and this should not have happened. Your brows straight after look like they haven’t been cleaned and hydrated!”
A third commented: “Whaaaaat how can they let that happen.”
Another said: “This happened to me galllll.”
Someone else stated: “I’m a brow tech and use / left on way too much product. Not given nutrients afterwards / not proper aftercare given. Tint is also sloppy.”
Many TikTok users rushed to the comments to share their advice for how to grow Alena’s eyebrows back.
One user commented: “Try revitalise serum or castor oil or if you can bear the smell of rice water on a spoolie every night the follow up with castor oil.”

Another advised: “Use caster oil! Life saver for me.”
A third added: “Conditioner.”
