Speaking at the steps of the Wyoming state capitol, Gaetz said he had been in communication with Trump the prior day.
“He sends his love, he loves you all so much, and President Trump is going to keep fighting for this country with every breath that he has,” Gaetz said, drawing cheers from the crowd.
The congressman from Florida added that Trump wanted him to share the results from a poll that was released on Wednesday.
According to Gaetz, the poll revealed that 70 percent of Wyoming voters believe Trump’s impeachment is unconstitutional and two-thirds of voters disapprove of Cheney’s vote to impeach him.

In addition, the poll found that 60 percent of voters approved of removing Cheney from Republican leadership, he said.
Gaetz also praised the former president’s policies.
“President Donald J Trump showed us that with strong borders, with a focused foreign policy, with less regulation, with less involvement from Washington and with lower taxes, America’s best days are still yet to come,” the representative said, as the crowd cheered.

“Don’t you ever let some spoiled celebrity or athlete or socialist politician ever tell you otherwise.”
Gaetz accused Cheney of making one of her main objectives to “frustrate the agenda of President Donald Trump.”
Cheney, the No. 3 House Republican, was one of 10 Republicans in the House of Representatives who voted two weeks ago to impeach Trump a historic second time.

The Wyoming Republican blamed Trump for the Capitol riot, saying in a statement that he “assembled,” “summoned,” and “lit the flame of this attack.”
“There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution,” she stated.
While Cheney seeks to move the Republican Party past the Trump days, Gaetz made it clear he wants to carry Trump’s mantra forward.
“I have a competing vision for Republicanism,” Gaetz told reporters earlier this week.
“I believe that we ought to embrace the spirit and style of President Trump.”
Gaetz’s rally against Cheney showed just how fractured the Republican Party is post-Trump and as lawmakers prepare for his second impeachment trial next month.
