LOVE Island fans were beside themselves as the first look at the upcoming season aired during Britain’s Got Talent.
The dating show phenomenon will start again next month and the unexpected teaser delighted fans.
Love Island is back and a new teaser has sent fans wild
It showed claymation scene featuring a person swimming in the pool doing ‘salmon dives’.
The teaser also paid homage to Millie Court’s iconic moment last season when she played the keyboard and instantly became a meme.
Declaring “Love we own it”, the teaser also played the series’ recognisable cutaway music, to the delight of fans watching at home.
“Love Island must be back we all know that tune,” tweeted one person.
Another added: “Just seen the first advert that love island is coming back soon…. And I’m absolutely here for it.”
“Just heard that magical noise of summer…”
An insider said: “Love Island is coming back with a bang and it will begin on the second full week in June.
“The schedules are being put together now and fans can expect a long, hot summer of fun from the villa from June 6.
“Filming for the promotional adverts is beginning in the next couple of weeks and the ads will start in May.
“This series is going to be the longest ever and it’s from a brand new location so it’s all very exciting.”
It comes after tradesmen were spotted hard at work this week getting the new Love Island villa ready for the 2022 series launch.
The rustic Majorcan retreat looks less flashy than previous series but still possesses a charm of its own that could add to the romance in the ITV dating show.
Building work is well underway at the rural six bedroom property with the outside covered in scaffolding.
The villa is situated in the middle of lush greenery and at the foot of a large hill.
The old villa in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, which housed contestants for five years, sold for a whopping £3million.
We recently revealed the new Love Island series will kick off on Monday June 6.
A spokesman for Love Island said: “It is too early to confirm scheduling for the 2022 series.”
Love Island, which first started in June 2015, is still a massive hit and is the most popular show for 16 to 34-year-olds.
Earlier this week The Sun also revealed the first contestant being pursued by Love Island bosses.
Beautician Sophie Draper, 22, dated Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash for four years prior to their sudden split last year and has now met with ITV chiefs who think she is the “perfect fit” for the dating show.
A TV source said: “Sophie is a gorgeous girl who is really driven and determined to succeed.
“She has her own beauty salon and already leads a jet set lifestyle, which she likes showing off on Instagram, so she wouldn’t be fazed by being on TV.
“Love Island bosses think she could be a good fit for the show, it’s early days still but she definitely has potential.
“Matty will be pretty shocked to see her looking for love on TV, but he publicly moved on pretty quickly.”
