Christmas is over, the festivities are done, you’re sweeping up the confetti and *record scratch* someone asks what your New Year’s Resolution is.
While every year it might feel like the party is well and truly over when you go from stuffing yourself with everything that is gluttonous and, therefore, glorious, to saying no to anything fun all in the pursuit of *health*.
Luckily for you we have another, dare we say, exceptionally better idea. Because the only thing we’re saying no to is taking that mindset into the new year.
Revelation alert: treating yourself and sticking to your plan has never been so breezy than with a tasty pot of Hartley’s 10 Cal Jelly.
So next time you’re at the shops, make a pit-stop in the jelly and custard aisle and pick up some of these winners. Fill your basket. Get every flavour. All in the attitude of saying ‘Yes’!
Fancy some strawberry?
Look, we get it, the post-December blues have hit hard, it’s freezing outside, and being kind to yourself isn’t all that high on the priority list when you feel the only answer to sticking to your New Year’s resolution is to punish yourself with a grueling plan.
Au contraire, dear reader, now is truly the time to treat yourself and start the year buzzing high on a cloud of jelly and joy.
We’re all about saying YES to fun, YES to enjoyment and most definitely YES to pudding (sorry, did we make it clear we’re saying yes this year?), without any whisper of the usual guilt or self-flagellation January can bring.
Just have the ruddy treat, we say, with your pick of 10 Cal flavours (you’re spoilt for choice but if you’re in need of inspiration, our picks are strawberry and raspberry) which are sugar-free, vegan and way-too-tasty for being so low in calories. Put the apps away: these pots of joy fit into even the strictest of plans.

See how easy it is to say yes? In the past you may have been afraid of that magic, three-letter word, but that’s 2021 you. And sayonara to them. In the simplest terms, saying no to pleasures we want denies us of life’s little beauties, and this year we’re all about embracing opportunities and treating ourselves.
Lord, some people say yes to cold water swimming in winter. More power to them and all that, but saying yes to joy in the form of a healthy snack that won’t undo any of your hard work? Well that’s a walk in the park (side note: you can also walk in the park with one of these jellies. Double joy!)
Maybe mango and passion fruit is more your speed…
Studies have shown that saying yes to lots of little good things is the path to happiness, and those who frequently treated themselves to easy indulgences found more satisfaction in life than those who chose one extravagantly large positive.
Let’s boil it down to self-care, which has never been more important. But don’t just take it from us – research has suggested self-care promotes a whole lot of wider health positivity, such as fostering resilience, living longer, and, this is our favourite, becoming better equipped to manage stress.
One 10 Cal has the same calories as:
10 pieces of popcorn (0.9 calories each)
Less than one whole tortilla chip (14 calories each)
1 gummy bear (9 calories each)
1 chocolate chip (8.1 calories each)
Less than half of a mini marshmallow (23 calories each)
Treat yourself by saying yes and put more emphasis on allowing yourself a glorious treat. You need not punish yourself to achieve your goals.
Frankly, we’ve had enough restrictions lately (are we right or are we right?), so we’re here to insist it’s absolutely fine, in fact, it’s mandated by science that you ought to let the celebrations continue well past New Year’s Eve and stop denying the finer things in life.
The best part is that even if you’re on a health kick as part of your own self-care, these 10 calorie power pots of perfect pudding really need not have you giving up on your plan at all.
We think you’re ready for this jelly.
A balanced addition to any meal plan, a simple snack ‘to go’, or a tasty slurp while watching telly to stave off the sweet tooth, it’s all about choice – which you now have in buckets.
Hartley’s 10 Cal is found predominantly in the Everyday Puddings aisle, placed next to custard and rice pudding. Follow them on Instagram here.
