POLICE have launched a hunt for a man who was accidentally released from custody while waiting trial for sexual assault.
The Met was informed by staff at HMP Wormwood Scrubs in London that William Fernandez, 24, had been released in an error.

Police are asking for the public’s help to locate and remand the prisoner.
He has been described as white, of medium build, with thinning hair and a dark beard.
He has a distinctive cross tattoo on the left-hand side of his neck and was last seen wearing a black tracksuit and a black hat.
He is also known to use the name Agustin Fernando Jimenez Eiberte.
There have been no confirmed sightings of him since he was released by accident on March 24.
Officers are conducting extensive enquiries to locate the 24-year-old including door-to-door enquiries and CCTV analysis.
Fernandez was awaiting trial for offences he was arrested and charged for in April 2020.
Detective Inspector Rory Wilkinson, who is leading the search, said: “Officers are exploring every possible line of enquiry to track Fernandez down and return him to prison.
“We would ask the public to assist us by being our eyes and ears and calling us if they see him or have any information about his whereabouts.”
