LET’S face it – one of the only things you are getting dressed for at the moment is your workout, whether at home or in the local park – so why not look the part?
Luckily, you don’t need to splurge on designer sports brands to get your on-trend tops, supportive sports bras and figure-hugging leggings.

Here, telly star Vicky Pattison, 33, tests out the budget fit kit available to order online or buy from the supermarket now.
Every outfit is under £40 and Vicky, who wore £12 trainers from Primark, gives her verdict and her marks out of ten.
This set from Asda was one of Vicky’s favourites thanks to the flattering crop top
“I really like the long line of this top. I think for women who aren’t tiny, it’s nice to not have to wear a crop top to the gym. The muted darker tones are really flattering and seasonal, too.
The leggings fit perfectly and look good on the bum – and you can’t even see my knickers in them.”
- Patterned vest, £8, leggings, £10, both George at Asda (direct.asda.com).
She loved the cosy lined top and capri pants from Sainsbury’s
“The top is so comfy. It’s lined and cosy and it’s perfect for exercising in winter.
“The leggings are capri which I think for bigger thighs are really flattering. I don’t think I’d wear these together but as separate pieces instead.”
New Look’s offering also scored highly – Vicky loved the functional but fashionable look
“I love this outfit. The jumper is so cute and cosy, the leggings are functional and fashionable. I could definitely see myself doing a gym class in this look and go out afterwards.
“It even passes the squat test – you can’t see my knickers through them. Result.”
- Pink jumper, £19.99; leggings, £19.99, both from Newlook.com.
This Pretty Little Thing set looked great but wasn’t as practical
“Initially I was hesitant about this look because it looked tiny and a bit like a wetsuit. But actually I feel really held in and it is flattering. I can see a lot of girls looking great in this at the gym.
“However, when I was working out the top did keep riding up, so make sure you factor that in.”
The print of these pieces was a bit too loud, but for just £31.50 they’re a bargain
“This print is a bit too loud for me but I feel very supported. if you’re a fan of print I would definitely recommend it.
“I can’t believe that the top is only £6.50 – what a bargain.”
Tesco’s £16 leggings ‘made working out easy and are surprisingly flattering’
“I would 110 per cent wear this jumper. The leggings feel like tights though, and I thought they’d be awful at first, but once they were on they made working out easy and are surprisingly flattering.
“I feel so snuggly in the fleece – it feels like a mother’s hug.”
- Fleece, £10; leggings, £16, both F&F at Tesco (in store only)
